2017-10-18 · While much of the focus of recent years has been on provincializing political ecology (Lawhon et al., 2014) and on learning from the South (Schindler, 2017), a significant body of work now points to relations of power that have produced and reproduced Anglo-American political ecology as ‘the mainstream’ against other – often European – approaches that share the same name.
English. Political ecology is an approach to the study of environment and development issues that has seen a rapid expansion during the last 10 to 15 years. The objective of this article is to give a brief description of this approach in French. The focus within political ecology is usually on power struggles in environmental governance. The Journal of Political Ecology (JPE) publishes research into the linkages between political economy and human environmental impacts, across different locations and academic disciplines. All articles must draw from, or contribute to, political ecology. We welcome submissions in English, French and Spanish.
